How do we make carbon capture profitable?

A CO2 drawdown of 10 gigatonnes/year is an equivalent mass of carbon atoms as 63% of the carbon atoms present in all the crude oil the world produces annually. Gigatonne scale carbon capture should be viewed as the biggest global biomanufacturing opportunity in history.
Precision fermentation has enabled the world to produce everything from malaria vaccines to insulin. CyanoCapture is using the same technology to engineer cyanobacteria to produce highly sought-after recombinant proteins ($300bn market). But instead of requiring sugars, the cells simply use CO2 and sunlight.
Why make things with carbon?

Cytokines
Polypeptides such as interferons can be made in small quantities in cyanobacteria. These products can cost up to $400/milligram in retail price in some cases.

Growth factors
Products such as IGF-1 and PDGF are important growth factors that go into a variety of non-therapeutic biotech applications as well as in the medium used for cultivated meats. These growth factors are currently very expensive because of the method of production.

Industrial Enzymes
Enzymes ranging from carbonic anhydrase to P450s have been recombinantly expressed in cyanobacteria and can serve a diverse range of useful industrial applications.
