Jose is leading the Strain Engineering pipeline as well as our recently launched High Value Compounds programme at CyanoCapture. Jose has engineered and characterised a library of fast-growing CO2 fixing strains of synechococcus and has worked directly on patented methods on cre-lox recombination and CRISPR-Cas12a cloning systems. Having previously held a postdoctoral position in the Lea-Smith lab where he worked on genetically engineering and characterising fast-growing cyanobacteria strains.
