Maggie joined CyanoCapture in 2024, having previously worked at Defence Science & Technology Laboratories (DSTL) where she worked on developing metabolic engineering capabilities to produce key enzymes to generate precursor chemicals in a range of different microbial hosts. Maggie completed her PhD in Synthetic Biology at the University of Edinburgh, working on single molecule protein based fluorescent biosensors and whole cell genetic circuit designs. Maggie works on the Molecular Biology team and is responsible for the development and characterisation of high value recombinant proteins expressed in cyanobacteria.
