Stu is pioneering Technology development at CyanoCapture building in-house capabilities on high throughput strain engineering and characterisation as well as leading external collaborations on graphitisation and hard carbon research. Stu joined CyanoCapture in 2024 from Oxford Nanopore where he served as the Vice President of Development, having spent 17 years inventing, developing and delivering a commercially successful disruptive DNA sequencing technology from a small startup to IPO and beyond. Stu holds a DPhil in Biophysics from Wadham College, University of Oxford on characterising bacterial flagella motors.
